Excursion will be organized on Wenesday 27^th September that includes visit of the Pont d'Arc cavern and of Châteauneuf-du-Pape in the afternoon.

Pont d'Arc cavern

The Pont d'Arc Cavern is largest decorated cave replica in the world. It features the extraordinary paintings, drawings and engravings reproduced from the Chauvet Cave, one of the most ancient decorated caves in the world, dating from the Aurignacian (approximately - 35 000 years).

Discover very recently in 1994, the Chauvet Cave is of major scientific interest, from the palaeontological point of view as well as that of parietal art, displaying more than 1000 paintings and engravings, including 447 animals representations from 14 different species, justifying its classification as unique UNESCO World heritage site.
